Machine Direction Orientation (MDO)
Machine Direction Orientation (MDO) is an innovative new material technology transforming the ability of plastic to meet stringent EU recycling and waste reduction targets. It’s a mechanical orientation technique that aligns polymer molecules, significantly enhancing the film’s performance. Potential environmental gains are huge because it enables lightweighting, which reduces material usage and carbon emissions across the supply chain.
Meech, global leader in static control, surface cleaning and air technology had identified a new issue problem particular to MDO lines, the build-up of white flakes causing unacceptable levels of contamination and quality failure. Meech’s research, which suggests the issue may be due to the high temperatures and the increased number of rollers and additives required, has developed a bespoke contact cleaning solution using its VacClean products.
Ahead of the ICE Show in Munich, Meech wanted a PR campaign which would support its new business pipeline and bring visitors to its stand in a highly competitive market.
TALA developed an engaging campaign with great media coverage for Meech’s MDO web cleaning solutions. It was a real boost at the show, where we had some very important visitors to the stand and subsequent new business enquiries.
